Mail Art Challenge for December

Hi everyone

Well Christmas is nearly upon us – where has the year gone! I’m as unorganized as ever. Haven’t got the tree up yet! I’m having cupboards built under my stairs. The cupboards are in but the doors and fillers have yet to be done so I’ve spent the day filling them. They are mostly for my craft stash which is enormous. I hate to think how much I’ve spent over the years, probably could have put a down payment on a larger house!! I have spent most of the day sorting through it all and putting it in some sort of order. I think a number of boot fairs will be necessary in 2014. I will probably never use half of it.

Well its time for Decembers Mail Art Challenge which of course is Christmas. If you pop over to www.newnannyblogspot you will see the other design team entry's and get all of the details.

This is a very quick envelope as I had completely forgotten to do it. Have been trying to get some christmas cards made as I feel really guilty if I send a bought card.

GEDC4703The lovely stamp is one from Stampendous. and I used Promarkers and Distress ink to colour.

I have added some sparkle to the snow on the branches but it is difficult to see in the picture. I would love to see your entry's so do have a go and send them to Julie.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a happy, healthy & wealthy New Year.

I look forward to you stopping by in 2014.

Love

Mail Art Challenge no2

Julie’s 2nd Mail Art challenge is ‘Autumn’ You can click the link www.newnanny.blogspot.co.uk to see the other design team entries. Grab yourself an envelope and get creating, it certainly brightens Mr Postmans day delivering something other than a boring white envelope or the dreaded brown ones!

This is my entry for this challenge. The stamp is from the Lilyof thevalley range. They have some beautiful cute images. I stamped some larger leaves and drew the smaller ones and coloured with Promarkers.

Mail art challenge

Its a bit touch and go as to whether this post will actually appear on my blog as its been so long and not sure whether I can remember what to do!!!!!!
Unfortunately my crafting has been put on the back burner for some time due to work and decorating. There is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel on the decorating front but work doesn’t seem to be letting up! Anyway I will definitely be back blogging at least once a month as Julie is starting a new monthly challenge on her blog www.newnanny.blogspot.co.uk for Mail Art. The first theme as we are nearing the 31st of October has to be Halloween. This is my interpretation. I decided to hand draw on my envelope.

Long time no hear………..

Its been absolutely ages for which I apologize, but have been busy juggling work  and home refurbishments of which are still going on. The bathroom is nearly finished and also the living room. Mammoth fireplace taken out and a new less imposing is now all installed. Can’t wait to clean everything, have been living with dust for weeks! Just got back from a long weekend break to the German Christmas markets. Had a lovely time although Cologne was absolutely heaving, you couldn’t move which spoilt it. Bruges is lovely with some fantastic shops but unfortunately we only had an hour there on the way back to Calais.

Anyway the main reason for this post is to show some of the cards I had made for my digi disc I think going back to August. There is a new one based on the same lines with the toadstool houses and tree houses but with a christmas theme . Unfortunately I haven’t photographed them yet but  I and post the pictures as soon as my house is back in order.

Digi samples continued

Hi all

Continuing the samples I made for my latest launch of digi stamps.

digis may 12 012This card uses the frame, flowers and the butterfly digis. Everything is tinted using a grey copic/promarker pen.

I cut round the inside of the frame image and mounted over a stamped text.

digis may 12 014digis may 12 015

The flowers cut out and layered to the bottom corner of the frame.

digis may 12 013The butterflies mounted onto wire threaded  with beads.

This second card uses another frame and butterfly image

digis may 12 019 Cut using a scalloped circle die and coloured with copics. The seam binding ribbon was also coloured to match the flowers.

digis may 12 020and some Glamour dust  to finish.

I’m in the process of having a good long over due clear out at the moment so thought I’d have a coffee and a 5 min breather doing this post.

Thanks again for stopping by

card challenge 006Glamour dust covered birds.

card challenge 008Scalloped edge triangles.

card challenge 007Punched and embossed flowers.

card challenge 009and a few hand drawn swirls. Done, sorted. You could change the colours of the papers to adapt to different occasions – gold tones for Golden wedding, reds for Valentines day & Ruby Wedding and so on.

Red,White & Blue

Is this weeks card challenge on the Scrapbook Sisters Blog and very fitting for a fantastic extended holiday weekend of celebrations. I wasn’t lucky enough to experience any of it London but watched most of it on the TV. I must say that the concert was outstanding. I’m glad I watched it on my own as I had the TV up full blast and was dancing round the living room to most of it. If anyone had seen me they would have thought I’d lost the plot!

Anyway this is my take on this weeks theme.

card challenge 001I drew the Union Jack onto the backing card and the butterflies and coloured with copics and tinted the edges with walnut distress ink.

card challenge 002The butterflies and flowers with ribbon are from my latest digi stamps. The blue paper and postcard stamp are from the ‘Portobello Road’ range from Papermania.

card challenge 007The wording is a Kaisercraft stamp. I used blue micro beads to accent the centres of the flowers  and over the postcard.

card challenge 008Seam binding ribbon coloured with a copic/promarker pen.

card challenge 009Butterflies and flowers cut out and the card assembled.

Don’t forget to enter a card into the challenge. Its lovely to see what everyone creates and gives inspiration to others.

I hope everyone had a great long weekend, back to reality now!
