30th Birthday

This is a card I have just finished for my sister to give her partners daughter. She is 30 in a couple of weeks. We are all off to her Birthday Bash on the 24th where I am told  the order of the evening will also include old fashioned ‘Party Games’ – sounds like it could be fun! It has been shall I say a number of years since I played ‘Pass the Parcel’ and ‘Musical Chairs’ and so on. I will report back after the event.

Anyway getting back to the card. I made it in the form of an Easel Card but using circles as the 032

cards 033

The papers are from Tim Holtz ‘Vintage Shabby’ paper stack. This pad is absolutely scrummy. I have kept all of the papers ( which are more like a light weight card really) in the grey tones and just added the colour with the butterfly. Of course there had to be a butterfly somewhere!

The centre of the flower was made with folded scalloped edge circles. MMMM might have to include this in one of my classes.  The outside petals where cut from a template I made and layered with the ends of the petals curled in towards the centre of the flower and the whole thing secured with a clear diamante brad through a silver tone flower embellishment.

cards 038The butterfly was stamped twice on to acetate using Stazon and coloured with Cranberry alcohol ink on the reverse side.

cards 039Finished of with layered semi circles. The ‘30’was cut using Tim Holtz Vintage Market Alphabet  die. Now I’ve got to make a card from me. I’ll have to get my thinking cap on.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. This is beautiful Gayle, I've been eyeing those papers for a while now, and you posting such a stunning card just isn't helping my resolve!!!

Love the idea with the embelishment under the brad - it makes it look so much more. Hope you have a great time at the party
